Open Hands India was set up in 2006 to raise funds for projects that are already running but require money if they are to continue or extend their work with communities in chronic need. The projects are working to relieve poverty by:
• Improving educational opportunities (especially for vulnerable children)
• Improving access to health care
• Bringing about social and economic change through developing self-help savings groups and providing training in income generating skills
